Paint Away Hunger, Elm City Market
October 5, 2012
On Friday, October 5th, I met with young families, children ages 3 and up for a “Paint Away Hunger” 30 ft. community mural hosted by Elm City Market. Families communed in the courtyard by the Orange street entrance of the store, we collectively worked on the mural-and played! This event was free to the public, and all donations benefited FISH of Greater New Haven, a mobile food pantry serving children, elderly, and families with special needs. www.fishofgnh.com.

The Painted Pomegranate
The Painted Pomegranate is a creative center for children that I had launched at the JCC of Greater New Haven, CT in 2010. The center allows parents to drop their children off in an experiential learning environment where children can create in the art room, act on stage, manipulate objects in the sensory and science stations, and become comfortable in the book nook. In addition, classes are available throughout the week, including yoga for kids, Music Together, Music and Me, and theater.

BLEND was a place where young children could release their inner energy and thereafter experience the combined benefits of arts and craft time, children's yoga, music, theater, movement and more!
As written on the Promo Marketer, "Today, in Branford, Connecticut I was introduced to this really amazing business called BLEND FOR KIDS, a wonderful place for children to experience the benefits of artful imagination, creativity, yoga and children's massage therapy with their parents. I went with my sister-in-law and her two children today. If you live close to this area and are looking for a wonderful, physically and mentally exhilirating experience for your child, this is a place to check out. It's an exceptional place - a world far away from technology and video contraptions. Check out their schedule, pry your young children away from the television, drop your children off, and spend a couple hours with your spouse (or alone with your own inner self)." |
